Meet Our Instructors

Our knowledgeable instructors offer a wide variety of weekly classes including art, fitness, and martial arts. There is sure to be a class that interests everyone, so visit us today and see for yourself why our Seniors love the Dearborn Adult Center.  

Vicky Facemyre

I trained for 9 months in St Louis with Master Mehta. I received my Master of Yoga Teacher Training certification February 2016. I taught in St. Louis for 6 months and continued my training in Chair Yoga. I have been teaching classes in Lawrenceburg for the past 5 years. My yoga classes are a more traditional Yoga that concentrates on the mind and body connection. It is a great class for beginners, post surgery, arthritis or rehabbing injuries. Prior to Yoga I taught dance for over 35 years. I studied business and dance at Ball State University.

Paul Hines

Paul has been a student of the Martial Arts for 35 years. The last 15 years he has concentrated on learning and teaching Tai Chi. He is a certified Yang-style Tai Chi instructor and a level-three Reiki practitioner.

Master Aaron Rumsey

Master Aaron Rumsey has been training in Tae Kwon Do for 37 years and instructing for 14 years. He is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon So, 3rd Degree Black Belt in Kukkiwon, and 2nd Degree Black Belt in Moo Moo Kwon. He has been awarded and recognized nationally and his students have placed 1st in tournaments in their respective disciplines.

Cindy Crowfoot

Cindy is an artist who enjoys painting all subjects from portraits to landscapes and still life. She is originally from Cincinnati, but moved to Greendale, Indiana 35 years ago. Her favorite art medium is oil paint. She has worked in this medium for the last 25yrs. She has taken oil painting classes at the Art Academy of Cincinnati as well as workshops with numerous oil painting masters such as Dan Gerhartz, Laura Robb, and C.W. Mundy.

Vera Curnow

Vera Curnow is the Founder of the Colored Pencil Society of America with over 1700 members worldwide and 20 District Chapters in the United States. She has authored and compiled ten books and written many magazine articles on colored pencil. Her artwork has been published internationally, featured in solo and group exhibitions, and included in corporate collections.

Jill Hawkins

Jill is certified in Silver Sneakers and CPR. She has 30+ years in fitness experience. The class is best described as a Cardio Dance class. It entails a combination of low impact Zumba, line dancing, and balance challenging dance moves and is 50 mins long.

Joan Abdon

Joan began teaching at DAC in 2004 and is now in her 18th year of instruction. She has been a member of the Southeastern Indiana Art Guild since 1989 and the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati since 1993. "I'm so glad I was asked to teach at DAC - I truly love passing on my knowledge of art to all of my students, who have become friends and extended family."

For 30yrs Connie has been a Director/Instructor of the Hoosier Hoedowner Cloggers, and has
been the DAC line dancing instructor for 15yrs.
